Bad Breath Treatment at Greenway Dental Excellence

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Bad Breath Treatment at Greenway Dental Excellence Do you suspect that you have bad breath? I’m Kurt Greenway of Greenway Dental Excellence, a full-service dental office in Riverside, California. I help our dental patients diagnose and overcome this unpleasant and potentially embarrassing condition.

Halitosis is caused by the bacteria that live on and around your teeth, gums and tongue. Breath mints and mouthwashes do not cure bad breath, they only mask the symptoms. Proper oral hygiene can cure many cases of bad breath. However, in some cases, bad breath is caused by more serious conditions. Sinus and tonsil infections, acid reflux, ulcers, diabetes, hypoglycemia, kidney malfunction, and eating disorders are just some of the health issues that can cause bad breath.

If you have bad breath, the first thing to do is make sure you are cleaning your teeth, gums and tongue thoroughly. This does not mean you should brush as long and forcefully as possible. Brushing too vigorously can harm gums and contribute to gum recession. At Greenway Dental Excellence, we help patients of all ages learn safe and effective brushing, flossing and tongue cleaning methods.

And don’t forget regular professional cleanings. Our friendly dental hygienist is trained in the latest and most effective deep-cleaning procedures. Your teeth feel so good after being cleaned professionally!

Let’s Talk About Your Smile

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Let’s Talk About Your Smile I’m Kurt Greenway of Greenway Dental Excellence. My office is located at 3679 Arlington Ave in Riverside. One of the best things about being a Redlands area dentist is interacting with my patients. During initial dental consultations, I listen carefully to my patient’s short and long term dental goals.

I enjoy discussing options and developing effective treatment plans tailored specifically to each person. Some of my clients desire a total smile makeover. I explain in detail the treatments available including teeth whitening, dental veneers, orthodontia, crown restoration, and dental implants.

If a client is nervous about undergoing treatment, we discuss oral conscious sedation. Oral conscious sedation, sometimes called oral sedation dentistry, is a great option for anxious patients. Dental visits do not have to be painful!

After the treatment has been completed, it is very gratifying for me to see my patient’s reaction to their new smile.

I never get tired of creating dramatic smile transformations for the best clients in California!

If you have been considering a smile makeover, let’s talk about your smile. Call Greenway Dental Excellence at 951.786.0600 to schedule a cosmetic dentistry consultation.

Tooth Whitening Dentistry In Riverside

Tooth Whitening Dentistry In Riverside

Tooth whitening has really taken off in Riverside. It has become a popular dental procedure and can provide excellent results if done properly.

There are a lot of options when it comes to tooth whitening. You can choose from a selection of over-the-counter options that you can get at your local pharmacy, or can go to a professional to get a complete tooth whitening solution.

It is a good idea to consult with your dentist before a tooth whitening, regardless of whether you choose to use an over-the-counter product. Your dentist will be able to help you understand the results you can expect, and can help recommend a product that will work for you.

There are many variables when it comes to tooth whitening. The color of your teeth at the beginning of your treatment will make a difference for your ending result. Different tooth whitening treatments will each produce a different result. Your Riverside dentist has experience with tooth coloration and the types of treatments available.

In many cases, your Riverside dentist will be able to provide you with a tooth whitening solution that you can take home with you. In some cases, your Riverside dentist may recommend a professional treatment that is done at the dentist’s office.

Professional tooth whitening can produce dramatic results in a single treatment, and is often done over a few treatments.

Tooth whitening is less expensive than it was in the earlier days of tooth whitening technology. Today, tooth whitening treatments are very affordable, and don’t take the time they used to.

If you are interested in a tooth whitening consultation in the Riverside area, please call Greenway Dental Excellence and make an appointment to see me. I will be happy to give you a check up, assess your tooth color, and recommend tooth whitening treatments that may be right for you.

Greenway Dental Excellence in Riverside Cares For Teeth

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Greenway Dental Excellence in Riverside Cares For Teeth Dentists in Riverside are concerned with your oral health and thus care about the condition of your mouth and all of your many teeth. At Greenway Dental Excellence we recognize that your teeth help you both eat and speak. You use your teeth to tear, scrape, and chew food, as well as to form words with your tongue. Teeth are an important part of your oral health and Greenway Dental Excellence located in Riverside, California wants to help keep your mouth and teeth healthy.

We humans have two sets of teeth in our lifetime. The first set are your ‘primary teeth‘, which many folks around Riverside often call ‘baby teeth’. Baby teeth typically start to come in at about 6 months old. An average healthy mouth for a Riverside resident has a total of 20 primary teeth by about age 5.

Your primary teeth will eventually fall out and new teeth known as ‘permanent teeth‘ will grow in. Permanent teeth typically begin to come in around age 6 for most Riverside residents, but every person is unique and it could be a little earlier or later. By about age 13 an average healthy mouth should have 28 of the total 32 permanent teeth. The last four permanent teeth may or may not come, but typically come in between the ages of 17 and 21 if they do. Because of the late age that these last teeth come in they are commonly called ‘wisdom teeth‘.

Many adults in the city of Riverside have their wisdom teeth pulled out because these teeth can be problematic to your oral health, such as crowding a mouth. Other adults in the Riverside area may not have these teeth pulled out because they are not causing problems. If you are concerned about the state of your wisdom teeth you can visit our local Riverside office and we can help you make a decision.

Caring for all of your teeth whether you are young and have 20 primary teeth or are an adult and have 28 to 32 permanent teeth is important for your overall health. Visiting your Riverside dentist regularly, and brushing and flossing daily are great ways to care for your many teeth.
